Effing Feline has a hot date #wewriwa

I, Effing Feline, like to be seen with a gorgeous pussycat at my side. Doesn’t everyone? Like this flexible beauty at right. Merrrow!!!

Anyway, I can understand how Teegan Dayle, the heroine of the third and final book in the Passion Island trilogy, Triple Wedding feels. You see, she needs a stunning date for her sister’s wedding to maintain her self-image as the most successful sibling.

Sterling, her roommate’s handsome brother, suggests she hire someone. She says no, of course, but does agree to go with him and his sister, Mercedes, on a picnic. Teegan speaks first.

“I still don’t understand why we’re picnicking here,” she said as she filled her wineglass. “Hernandez Park is half as far, and since it’s atop the Wall, it’s quieter and has a better view. I’m not complaining, but this spot isn’t worth taking an afternoon off work.”

“That sounds to me like a complaint,” he said. “Mercy, doesn’t that sound like a complaint?”

His sister grimaced. “If you think that’s a complaint, wait until she hears the real reason we’re here.”

Sterling spoke quickly, before Mercy could give an explanation that would make him look bad. “I’m just trying to help. I know you didn’t ask for my help, but I thought of another way you might be able to find a wedding date.”

And a quartet more, because you’re enjoying reading this so very, very much: (Aren’t you?)

Teegan raised her eyebrows. “Am I going to like your suggestion?”

“Yes,” Sterling said.

“No,” Mercy said at the same time.

“Butt out, Sis. Let me explain my idea while we eat.”

Effing Feline here again. At this point in the book, Sterling doesn’t like Teegan, and she’s guaranteed not to like this idea, which you’ll find out about next week.

Now, though, I gotta go. I have a hot date with a pussycat!

Triple Wedding

Teegan Dayle is a businesswoman who’s determined to maintain her image as the family’s most successful sibling. To do this, she needs a gorgeous date for her sisters’ wedding — even if he’s just a fake boyfriend..

Sterling, her roommate’s brother, is a handsome biologist. When a desperate Teegan asks him to be her date, he refuses — until he realizes the wedding is his only chance to meet the creatures who fulfill his professional dreams.

Booker is a naïve young Cupid whose job is to make a match for Teegan — but not with Sterling. Can he break up matches as well as he makes them?

How far are Teegan and Sterling willing to take their pretense? All the way?

Triple Wedding is available for pre-order in the three-book set, The Passion Island Trilogy, which goes live July 12. Order your copy today.

  1. Ha, cute a ‘picnic’. That’s how they get you, with food and a nice shady spot. Plus, a Cupid? I’m intrigued. Lovely snippet.

    1. Yep, the picnic was a come-on. If Teegan knew what he was going to suggest, no way would she have agreed to come along.

  2. “If you think that’s a complaint, wait until she hears the real reason we’re here”

    Great line!

Congratulations on the release of the trilogy, as highlighted in your newsletter.

    1. I debated about keeping this scene in the book, but it is one of the more fun scenes, so I did.

  3. LOL, I like how they’re on different wavelength in their reply. Can’t wait to hear about his suggestion.

    1. Yes, Sterling and his sister have a very direct, no-punches-pulled disagreement about his idea.

  4. She did sound like she was complaining.
    Tweeted.

    1. Good catch. When someone starts off a comment by saying “I’m not complaining, but . . .”, you know they’re complaining.

  5. Haha! I can hardly wait to hear what his idea is. lol. Nice build up, Ed!

Effing, go! You don’t want to miss your date with that hot pussycat!

    1. Effing’s date wasn’t what he expected, unfortunately.

I love that his sister is so sure his plan is going to fail, but he’s still holding on to hope.

    1. The difference can be explained by how well they know Teegan. Mercy — very well. Sterling — not well at all.

  7. FUN scene. I have a feeling I’m going to go with Mercy’s opinion on this great idea…but the ensuing complications will be fun to read.

    1. So far no one’s made any guesses about what his idea is. I find that interesting, though understandable.

  8. Can’t wait for their reaction to his idea. 🙂

    1. It’s safe to say that she’s waiting on tenterhooks, too, after her roommate’s reaction.

  9. Sounds like a very fun scene. I’m glad you kept it in the book! Now to find out the real purpose of the picnic. Can’t wait for next week’s snippet!

    1. For Sterling, this scene is a low point. After this, he has to redeem himself.

I can’t wait to hear his suggestion. This was a nice scene.

    1. I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed it so far.

  11. Oh, this is going to be good… *makes sure I have popcorn for next week’s snippet.*

  12. I love the cover! I’m always intrigued by dates of convenience turning to love.

    1. Thanks! The cover has gotten a lot of positive feedback, so I’m very happy with it.
