Effing Feline gulps #wewriwa

I, Effing Feline, welcomes my cousin Lee to my house (that’s the good news), but I forgot how much lions eat (that’s the bad news).

I had enough cat food on hand to feed Lee a snack (that’s the good news), but he ate every last bit of it(that’s the bad news).

The REALLY bad news is . . . well, I’ll tell you after this word from my sponsor, Pandora Uncaged.

Last week, search and rescue leader Aidan Forester, was awakened in the middle of the night by a seven-foot tall stranger who bundles him into a flitter and flies off — but not to search for a lost person. He speaks first.

“Who, exactly, are you?”

“My name’s Booker Markevious.”

Which told him little. The fact that Booker didn’t need Aidan’s S&R team told him more—this was a small-scale search. “Where are we going?”

“Quak. That’s the Colony Wildlife Containment Center, off the coast of the South Ocean.”

“I’ve heard of it. Don’t know much about it, though.”

“Tell me what you do know.”

And a few more but not too many. I know you have a lot of snippets to get to.

Aidan yawned then fell silent as he marshaled his thoughts. “It’s a bipartisan facility, jointly run by Eastcott and Westerlin, for studying indigenous wildlife.

Effing Feline here again. You want to know the bad news? The REALLY bad news?

Cousin Lee is getting hungry. And he’s staring right at me.

Gulp!

Pandora Uncaged

Book Two in the Passion Island Trilogy — A friends-to-lovers future romance

Available April 5 at all major e-book vendors

Pandora Dayle is her family’s disgraced black sheep. Ten years after running away, she’s rebuilt her self-respect at an isolated facility for saving animals native to the colony’s planet. Her redemption feels as fragile as a dream, but she’ll be okay if nothing traumatic happens.

But when the best friend from her innocent youth arrives, her insecurities mushroom.

Aidan used to be Pandora’s best friend. Since his teen years, he’s held heroic jobs—police officer and now Search and Rescue leader. He adored innocent young Pandora so much he compares every woman to her idealized memory, and finds them wanting.

But when he rediscovers the real thing, she’s not at all what he expected.

Booker, a naïve Apprentice Cupid for a secret organization, receives his second assignment: get Pandora and Aidan to mate. They’d been close friends, so his strategy is simple: He flies Aidan to her island and tells him to impregnate Pandora.

What could possibly go wrong?

  1. Don’t worry, Effing. Lee would never eat his own cousin…!

    1. And you know this how?

The one thing worse than one big hungry cat . . . three small hungry cats (if 15 lbs is small for the youngest one).

Continue to enjoy your snippets, Ed. Just wish they’d be looooonger.

    1. Fifteen pounds, eh? I think that one may just catch up to Lee.

  3. Maybe the Colony Wildlife Containment Center should study Effing Feline’s cousin.
    Tweeted.

    1. Yes, the CONTAINMENT part seems appropriate for Lee.

I like the name Booker Markevious. Sounds very…important. Great snippet!

And Effing, I’d run if I were you.

    1. Sometimes the first name that comes to you seems right, you know? Booker was like that. I never seriously considered changing it.

  5. Aiden’s doing well for a man rudely awakened and dragged off to deal with a mysterious emergency! Enjoyed the snippet…

    1. Ah, to get back the resilience of youth!

Oh, but does he know who works at the facility? Great snippet!

And maybe it’s time for cousin Lee to leave. His appetite seems a little too much for Effing to handle. LOL

    1. He has no idea who he’s about to meet.

  7. Getting dragged out to work in the wee hours is the worst. My husband did that for years–nothing so exciting as S&R, but still… 🙂

Effing, you have skills. I’m sure you can outsmart your cousin. lol

    1. The only job I’d drag myself out of bed for is mattress tester.

I love Booker. He tries so hard.

Effing, I don’t think he’ll eat you. You’re too little.

    1. But maybe Lee’s in the mood for a snack.

  9. Run, Effing, Run!

I wouldn’t give that advice to Aidan, however. I think he’s going to enjoy his destination thoroughly once he discovers who works at Quak!

    1. Yes, I think you’re right about Aidan.

  10. Booker is being pretty sparse on the details. I wonder how Aidan will react when he finds out just what Booker has planned for him.

    1. Thanks for stopping by!

I imagine he’ll be happy enough when he finds out who is on the island.

    1. When he finds out Booker has brought him to his first love, his feelings about Booker do change.

  12. I can’t wait until he finds out ‘who’ is there on the island.

    1. He has a surprise coming!

  13. Is that a tactic? Instead of answering Aidan’s questions, he turns the table and asks him question.

    1. He’s too tired for tactics, and she’s old friend he has no reason to suspect — so no. No tactics.
